RadiSen is proud to announce the successful completion of a major proof-of-concept (PoC) project at the Ribeiro Sanches Pneumology Center in Lisbon, Portugal. This initiative, part of the “Innovation for All Awards” hosted by the Lisbon Unicorn Factory and the Government of Portugal, highlights RadiSen’s commitment to advancing access to healthcare through AI-powered solutions.
Tackling Diagnostic Challenges with AI
Portugal’s public health system is facing mounting challenges due to a shortage of radiologists and an aging healthcare workforce. To help bridge this gap, RadiSen deployed its AI-powered chest X-ray screening solution, AXIR-CX, at a specialized public health center focused on respiratory diseases—particularly tuberculosis (TB) and other pulmonary conditions. The objective was to demonstrate how AI can accelerate diagnosis, reduce clinician workload, and improve access to care in underserved communities.
RadiSen’s AXIR-CX is capable of detecting TB, pneumonia, and other lung diseases in approximately 10 seconds. The system is designed to be deployed both in hospitals and in remote areas via offline/edge AI capability.

PoC Highlights & Results (March 18–May 16, 2025):
- 426 patient scans processed over two months
- Above 96% diagnostic accuracy
- 100% agreement rate in identifying normal cases—freeing clinicians to focus on critical patients
- AI report generation in just 11 seconds, vs. traditional 2–5 minutes
- Full PACS integration, enabling seamless adoption into existing workflows
These results confirmed that RadiSen’s AI solution not only supports diagnostic consistency but also enhances triage speed and resource optimization in high-volume or low-resource settings.

Collaborative Innovation
The PoC was made possible through close collaboration with local stakeholders, including the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA Lisbon), which facilitated regulatory and operational coordination. The successful trial has already paved the way for further partnerships and plans to integrate the AI solution into mobile screening units.
What’s Next?
Following this successful pilot, RadiSen is expanding its AI deployments globally, including recent implementations in Ethiopia. The company will continue to collaborate with international health systems to scale AI-driven screening solutions that are fast, reliable, and accessible—wherever they are needed most.
